Our direct CO2 emissions in 2009 will be taken as the baseline for carbon-trading schemes over the coming years. Our policy of constant attention to measuring and reducing, rather than offsetting our emissions, puts us in a good position to embrace a new world where environmental impact meets the bottom line of our business.
Business-mileage reduction was the focus for 2008. Paper reduction and data-centre performance will be the focus for 2009.
